Megan Rees
Megan once drove 3 murderers to a museum in a Honda Accord. Another time she helped a passenger snap back from a catatonic state on the subway floor. She writes female-led TV projects about wounded healers who are reluctantly pulled into saving society from destruction by the status quo. Her multi-accoladed pilot, Hot Town, is based on her grassroots work in community emergency care. So is Hot Flash, but the protagonist therapists also happen to be menopause-onset witches.
With an interest in changing the industry from the outside in, Megan founded a community of women and nonbinary emerging screenwriters 40+ which now has over 500 members in 6 continents. She has collected data on accomplishments, arranged several industry speakers, and received donations from all the major screenwriting companies.
